Product Overview

An air compressor is industrial equipment that generates compressed air. Air contains dust, acidic substances, solid particles and other contaminants. During compressor operation, the air filter removes impurities from incoming air, so the air filter is known as the first line of defense for the air compressor system.

This Flohydra replacement air filter assembly consists of an air filter housing and filter element. It connects to the compressor bypass valve via connectors and threaded pipelines to purify intake air and trap dust, solid particles and other pollutants.

Filtration Principle

Particulate pollutants in the air are composed of solid or liquid micro-particles. Atmospheric dust includes solid debris and liquid droplets, forming atmospheric aerosols. Particles larger than 10μm settle under gravity, serving as the primary target for industrial dust removal. Fine dust ranging from 0.1μm to 10μm floats with airflow and hardly settles naturally.

The air filter relies on filter media for purification through three synergistic mechanisms:

• Inertial effect: Larger particles break away from airflow when the air stream turns, collide and adhere to the filter media.
• Diffusion effect: Tiny particles migrate to the fiber surface of filter media and get captured due to Brownian motion of gas molecules.
• Electrostatic adsorption effect: Electrostatically charged fibers attract fine particles to improve capture efficiency.

As airflow passes through the air filter, impurities are retained and adsorbed on the filter element to complete air purification.
