Sintered metal powder filter elements are manufactured from metal powder without binders, through cold isostatic pressing and vacuum sintering. By adjusting particle size and process parameters, pore size and distribution can be precisely controlled to meet specific user requirements.
In terms of filtration performance, these elements enable micron-level precision, effectively removing solid contaminants from liquids or gases. Impurities are retained on the surface as filter cake, while clean fluid passes through, restoring contaminated fluids to production-ready cleanliness and protecting downstream equipment.
Another key advantage is their regenerability. Unlike non-metallic sintered filters, metal powder filters offer high mechanical strength, allowing for backwashing or back-blowing when the filter cake builds up, thus enabling reuse.
Among various metal options, stainless steel versions (grades 304, 304L, 316, and 316L) are particularly widely used. They are produced through sieving, forming, and sintering, forming microporous structures with excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, abrasion resistance, and good mechanical properties.
