The oil separation element is key to compressed air quality in air compressors. A high-quality element ensures efficient operation and a filter life of thousands of hours. Compressed air from the compressor head contains oil droplets; large ones are easily separated in the tank, while fine particles (below 1 micron) must pass through a fiberglass filter layer. Through diffusion, interception, and inertial impaction, these fine mists coalesce into larger drops, which settle at the bottom and return to the lubrication system via the return line.

Solid particles trapped in the filter gradually increase pressure differential. When the differential reaches 0.08–0.1 MPa, or when oil carryover becomes visible, the element must be replaced; otherwise, operating costs rise.

Installation Method for Built-in Oil Separator Element:

1.Stop the compressor, close the outlet valve, open the drain valve, and verify that the system is fully depressurized.

2.Disconnect the piping above the oil tank and remove the line from the pressure maintenance valve to the cooler.

3.Remove the oil return line and check that it is clear of obstructions.

4.Remove the bolts securing the top cover of the oil tank and lift off the cover.

5.Take out the old separator element and install the new one.

6.Do not remove the staples on the flange gasket—they serve as the static-conducting device.

7.Reassemble all components in the reverse order of disassembly.

8.Open the compressor outlet valve before starting up and performing test runs.

Installation Method for External Oil Separator Element:

Stop the compressor, close the outlet valve, open the drain valve, and ensure the system is depressurized. Then simply remove the old separator element and install the new one.
